Use the Text Library to store short clips of text, which can easily be inserted back into your document.
The Text Library is accessed from the icon (which looks a bit like a baseball on second thought…) found in the lower left of the document window. Click on the icon to turn this feature on or off. The contents of the Text Library are saved on the Preferences card under the section "HotList, Text and Image Library".
Storing Text
Make a text selection, then hold down the Option key and pass the cursor over the Text Library icon -- no click necessary. You'll hear a beep and the text selection is saved to the library found on the Preferences card. All return characters are encoded as "¬" (option-L).
Retrieving Text
To retrieve a library item, place the insertion point in your text, then pass the cursor over the icon again (no Option key this time.) You'll see a dialog box from where you can choose a Text Library item, which will be inserted into your document.
Options
The Text Library dialog box also has options (the “Add Current Selection” button) to choose to insert the current text selection into the Text Library. Clicking on the “Disable Hotspot” button cancels the dialog box and turns off the Text Library hotspot. Click on it to turn it back on.
